It has been over a year since I last blogged. When it was time to renew this site I did some soul searching to see if I wanted to continue to pay for something that I was not actively participating in. After talking with my husband, I have decided to continue and this year write more. As the kids are getting older, and so am I, this is a great way to keep the memories of my family. It is like another type of scrapbook for me. If you ever see my house, it is all about memories. I have a ton of pictures of family all over the place. Also, as I near 40, I am trying to go back to what I wanted to do when I was younger. I once wanted to be a writer. I am so out of practice that this is another outlet for me to improve and work on my words.
The last year has been a busy one. Our oldest (Logan) is now four and our youngest (Lilly) is now two. We are settled in our house and we are doing small improvements as we can afford them. I can’t believe summer is nearly over with and kids will be going back to school. We decided to send Logan to a different preschool. He seems to love it so far. We decided to wait to send Lilly to preschool until January. She will be two and half at that time. She is really smart though, she already knows her colors and is well under way on learning the alphabet.
My husband has been working 7 days a week for the past month, so the family activities have slowed down. We are hoping to finish our summer up strong during Labor Day weekend by doing some family activities. I also turned 39 this past week. I want to use this blog as a way to document my last year in my 30’s. This next year should be an amazing one as the kids get older and are learning more, we are taking a trip to Disney World, and the holidays will be here before we know it!
I have also started my own side business. I am an Independent Consultant for Usborne Books and More. I am brand spanking new at this and I am scared. I have tried direct sales before and have failed. And so far the feedback I have received has been mixed. I really want to succeed at something! Plus we could use some extra money to fix up the house.
